Merano (324 m) is located just at the point where Val Venosta, Val Passiria and Val d'Adige intersect. The historical centre of the city comprises the "portici" covered arcade connecting Piazza del Grano and Piazza Duomo, the Steinach district, via Leonardo da Vinci, via delle Corse and the three city gates that are still preserved.

Merano is the historic health resort and leisure centre of the South Tyrol region in Northern Italy. Its unique combination of the Mediterranean and Alpine climate offers a wide and diverse range of facilities for both summer and winter holidays.

Christmas to the standard of the pleasure and the rest: to abandon themselves to the caress of the wellness, to discover between the valuable stalls handicraft creations, specialty pastry cook and attractions for the children. Merano and its historical center, decorated to festivity for the occasion, is one show for the eye and the heart. In the roads and the alleys of the center, dazzling in their christmas decorations, every display window emphasizes the solemnity of Christmas.
